Located in the heart of Barcelona, the World Trade Center is a 130,000 m² business park spread across four 8-story buildings. A complex of this scale generates considerable foot traffic and, with it, high hygiene standards. The service provider maintains 48 restroom facilities on a daily basis. It was in this context, heightened by the Covid-19 crisis, that the service provider Armonia chose MoveWORK to transform the management of its hygiene and cleaning services.
The ambition: To move from reactive management to 360° data-driven oversight. To achieve this, around a hundred connected devices were deployed across the entire site.
The objectives:
- Map restroom facilities for visibility into cleaning interventions
- Measure foot traffic and track restroom interventions across the entire site
- Coordinate service requests in real time
- Optimize consumables management
Why did Armonia choose MoveWORK?
The deployment relies on an IoT infrastructure designed to cover the entire site. To ensure comprehensive data collection and smooth coordination of interventions, every restroom facility was equipped with the same setup. Operational management is centralized in MoveWORK Flow thanks to its cross-functional interface.
1. IoT for on-site data collection:
The terminals: Installed in the restrooms, the Rondio and Actio terminals serve different functions:
Rondio : The check-in terminal
It allows agents to log their visit during each intervention.
By badging in and out, the agent automatically triggers the closure of the corresponding workflow on the MoveWORK Flow platform, thereby ensuring complete, real-time traceability of each round.
Actio : The terminal for request
It provides 3 buttons:
- Paper restocking
- Soap restocking
- Cleaning request
As soon as a button is pressed, an alert is sent to the managers, who then dispatch the available agent. Once the intervention is completed, the agent confirms completion, closing the request on the platform.
The occupancy sensor: The restrooms are also equipped with a door-opening sensor that records the number of people entering the space. This data makes it possible to objectively assess maintenance needs and adjust visit frequency based on actual usage, rather than a fixed schedule.
The gateways, the collection network: To ensure the collection of all this data on the MoveWORK Flow platform, 6 gateways were strategically positioned across the site, with 2 per building: one on the 4th floor, the other on the 8th. This network layout guarantees optimal coverage across all levels and ensures continuous, uninterrupted data collection.

2. The MoveWORK Flow platform, for data reporting:
Once collected, the information is transmitted to MoveWORK Flow. The platform makes it possible to track performance indicators in clear charts: number of interventions, response times, compliance rate, cleaning frequency per restroom, number of user reports, peak periods…
Thanks to full visibility into the intervention process, the service provider can adjust its teams’ activity, stay compliant with its contract, and reduce operational costs.
These dashboards are also accessible to clients in real time. In addition, through this portal, clients can:
- Submit intervention requests
- Share information
- Report incidents in real time
- Schedule quality checks
All requests and information flow through the platform, where they are managed centrally, and the corresponding actions are automatically triggered.
