Aquarium de Paris

Located in the heart of Paris, the Aquarium de Paris is a leading cultural institution in France. As the first aquarium in France, it welcomed nearly 670,000 visitors in 2024. With 82 tanks and high visitor numbers throughout the year, the site experiences intense foot traffic, generating a continuous flow of visitors across all areas, particularly restrooms and common areas.

With such high visitor numbers, maintaining the cleanliness and safety of public areas at all times is a major challenge. Any lapse can directly affect the visitor experience, as well as the site’s regulatory compliance. This is why the Aquarium de Paris chose to deploy the MoveWORK Flow solution to digitize intervention monitoring and ensure compliance.

The objective: to optimize the traceability of hygiene and cleaning activities, enhance service quality for visitors, and meet the growing hygiene and safety requirements of the DDPP (French Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations).

Paper-based monitoring eliminated

Why digitize intervention traceability?

Before implementing the MoveWORK Flow solution, quality control was carried out manually using paper-based processes. Agents’ interventions in the restrooms were monitored using sign-in sheets.

However, this approach had several limitations:

  • Sheets could be forgotten, incorrectly completed, or damaged, making traceability unreliable

  • No real-time alerts in the event of a missed intervention, delay, or malfunction

  • Significant administrative workload for supervisors, who had to collect, sort, and archive documents manually

  • Increased risk of non-compliance during inspections due to a lack of centralized, time-stamped records

  • No way to monitor interventions remotely or extract statistics to effectively manage service quality

Following an inspection by the DDPP (French Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations), it became clear that the Aquarium de Paris needed to digitize agents’ rounds to ensure quality monitoring and public safety.

Project scope and objectives

The Aquarium de Paris therefore needed a tool to:

  • Prove that each cleaning intervention was carried out and completed correctly
  • Conduct quality checks to measure compliance with established protocols
  • Generate performance indicators and activity reports whenever requested internally or by regulatory authorities

To implement this digitalization project, the Aquarium de Paris turned to MoveWORK. Following an analysis of its needs, the digitalization of intervention rounds was progressively rolled out across:

  • 15 field operatives assigned to specific tasks, including restroom management, waste management, floor cleaning, etc.
  • 8 intervention and monitoring areas, including waste storage rooms, changing rooms, and restrooms

Why choose MoveWORK?

"The MoveWORK solution is an all-in-one package. It includes hardware, mobile applications, and a platform, while also providing consulting and training services throughout the contract,” explains Sergio Ayikoe, Hygiene Director at the Aquarium de Paris. Each user profile has a dedicated tool, tailored to their role and configured to meet their specific operational needs."

Tools to simplify your agents’ daily tasks

On a daily basis, Aquarium de Paris agents are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of visitors. However, their work also comes with numerous constraints and unexpected situations that can make day-to-day operations more challenging: disruptive behavior, technical failures, supply shortages, unexpected visitor surges, and more.

With myMissions, they have access to a mobile application that allows them to view their schedules in real time and receive instant notifications in the event of changes or exceptional assignments. Agents can also easily report incidents and request immediate support on site. This responsiveness enables them to maintain a clean environment for visitors at all times. They can also rely on TAQT kiosks, installed at strategic locations, to submit

requests or report a shortage of supplies in real time. For visitors, TAQT kiosks are available in the restrooms to collect immediate feedback on their satisfaction. If dissatisfaction is detected, an alert is automatically triggered, and available teams are mobilized for a fast, targeted intervention on site.

myDecisions, the app for ensuring compliance with safety standards

Designed to go beyond simple digital quality control, the myDecisions app enables the automation of quality processes across one or multiple sites. With the app, operations managers can check whether interventions have been carried out in compliance with the applicable protocols. No more paperwork and no more hours spent searching for the right reference checklists: based on their location, managers have direct access to customized quality checks.

But that’s not all. myDecisions automatically triggers the appropriate action plans based on any non-conformities detected during inspections. Managers can monitor the resolution of non-conformities in real time, without having to travel to the site. All programs are pre-configured in the app, saving teams considerable time on a daily basis.

“I think it’s an app that really enables us to respond quickly and in real time. It allows me to monitor customer satisfaction and dissatisfaction so we can work on these areas and improve the quality of our services. We’re always looking to strengthen the team to ensure that the site remains as pleasant as possible for visitors.”

MoveWORK Flow, the platform for monitoring performance indicators

The MoveWORK Flow platform acts as the control tower for monitoring all of Aquarium de Paris’s performance indicators in real time. Satisfaction rates, complaints, overall or zone-specific compliance rates, completion rates by type of cleaning activity, and more can all be tracked at a glance. These indicators, collected directly in the field, are automatically fed into the platform and displayed in clear, intuitive dashboards.

All this data provides a comprehensive overview of operations and makes it possible to identify problem areas instantly. Locations requiring corrective action are geolocated, deviations are automatically calculated, and action plans are suggested to help ensure everyone’s safety.

Finally, these reports are invaluable during audits and inspections. No more hours spent manually entering data or searching for documents — everything is centralized. The dashboards provide clear, reliable evidence of all the actions taken to maintain compliance across the facility.
